We have so deeply programmed our minds to react that stopping to catch the mental reaction to an external stimuli looks almost impossible.
But as you mentioned in you article the way to introspect, it's achievable.
I often find myself on a bumpy ride. Sometimes, I am calm enough to check and change my thought response while sometimes I am highly volatile. But the good part is the progress.
